About me
Jason began his teaching career in Granbury, TX as a science teacher and swim coach for Granbury High School. In his time at GHS, he taught 9th grade Biology, Aviation Science, STAAR Prep Science, and Aquatic Science along with his duties as the Head Swim Coach for the Pirates. In 2019, Jason took steps out of the classroom and into administration where he became the Instructional Technology Specialist and eventually Instructional Technology Coordinator for Granbury ISD.
His responsibilities and duties as Instructional Technology Coordinator included implementing weekly and yearly professional development, Planning and Coordinating speakers for a 700 attendee edtech conference (#Teach4Gr8ness) yearly, operating district helpdesk communication, providing on demand support to Granbury ISD K-12 staff, co teaching technology integrated mini lessons in K-12 classrooms, serving on the Acton Elementary and Granbury High School Campus Leadership Teams, coordinating and scheduling the Granbury ISD Technology Learning Center’s weekly calendar, supporting Granbury ISD network cybersecurity measures, and coaching teachers and principals using the “Get Better Faster” Observation Feedback Coaching System.
In the 4 years Jason supported GISD as the Instructional Technology Coordinator, he and his partners in the Instructional Technology Department oversaw 293 hours of summer professional development along with four 500+ attendee technology conferences offering over 300 unique sessions across the conference offerings.
In 2022, Jason HAPPILY returned to the classroom in Highland Park ISD as a Physics Teacher and assuming the role of Aquatics Coordinator and Head Swimming & Diving Coach of Highland Park High School. Additionally, Jason has been an adjunct instructor at Ouachita Baptist University since 2022 where he teaches EDFN2012 Introduction to Instructional Technology to undergraduate students wishing to go into education one day.
Jason's wife, Jennifer, is a 2nd grade teacher at Highland Park ISD's University Park Elementary and they have one daughter, Quinn, who one day hopes to be a fighting Scot herself!
