About me
For over 20 years, I've shared writing lessons from my classroom with teachers across the country. We teachers overcomplicate instruction so often, and the best results come from simplifying what we ask students to do. Writers of all ages and abilities benefit through clear choice, freedom to try out an idea, and real feedback. Whether the writing is about life experience or texts, the muscles are the same, and we can learn to adapt our lessons by considering the pedagogy of the giants: Donald Graves, Thomas Newkirk, Jerome Bruner, Lev Vygotsky, James Moffett, Tom Romano.
