About me
I have been a Certified Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing for 48 years. I have been a classroom teacher, provided in-class support to students and I am currently serving as the district Deaf Education Itinerant Teacher. My first love is teaching language, which is exactly what we must do when we serve Deaf/HOH students. I have presented at the Statewide Conference for the Deaf here in Texas six times and consulted with school districts and private agencies to help staff provide effective instruction when there are barriers to successful communication. I am also a parent of an adult Deaf son. Over my teaching career, I have amassed huge amounts of information and documented strategies that work with all students to effectively help them to master the spoken and written word. I am excited about sharing this information with anyone that has an interest.
