Empower your students to discover their unique leadership style while building a strong, positive classroom culture through an engaging and creative project. In this session, participants will learn how to guide students in creating a Personal Leadership Philosophy poster using Adobe Express. I am a middle school CTE teacher. Since I use so many projects as a part of the curriculum, as opposed to tests, I have developed some useful processes. I will share how I use Skill Builders, which help with the “extra time” after some students finish, how I have students request regrades, how I incorporate choice in projects, and scaffolding.
Using this strategy and grade level TEKS, your students will learn how to revise their papers by revising and taking peer input to do so. You will be provided with an expository writing sample to experience this technique. We will also discuss: how you can revise the criteria to suite your grade level, how to use this technique to assess beginning, middle, and end of the year student writing progress, and how to incorporate the criteria in other genres of writing.
